I came home from my 18 month mission yesterday! I served in two missions, the Utah Ogden and Logan missions. It was a wonderful experience! But since I’ve been gone so long, I’ve created a new blog. The new blog is winking-widow, a nickname I got on my mission. if you want to know more about my mission, go follow my new blog. eventually I’ll be able to post all about it there. for now though, I’m still trying to organize my photos.

here’s to all the women that want to be mothers so bad but can’t get pregnant.
happy mothers’ day to you. because even though you can’t have children, you can still be a strong mother figure. I want you all to remember that adopting kids or becoming a foster parent doesn’t make you a “fake” parent. If you can’t adopt or get foster children, you can still be a mother figure to someone, whether it be a niece or nephew or that cute little girl that lives down the road and catches the bus to school on the corner next to your house.

and here it is! at the moment, these are all my queer ocs. i put everyone in the colors of their respective pride flags. as you can see there is a few with both a sexuality flag and a gender flag. i tried to make their individual personalities stand out, because they’re all very unique people. i may make a few other posts that go a bit more in-depth with each character, but for now this is it.
this took me all week to make, and i’m very happy with it.
there’s a few others i could probably shoehorn into this group, but i’m still figuring them out so they’re not here.

Look look, I finally managed to draw a guy that wasn’t all thin and athletic! Geez why are dudes so hard to draw in different body types?
Well at any rate, this is Ayana’s brother Zaire. He wears sweaters most of the time, so this weird rumor started floating around town that he was buff. Not sure how anyone came to that conclusion, but they did. And then someone invited him to a pool party. And it turns out the only six pack he ever has is half a dozen tiny donuts.

mikkel loves snakes. like a lot. no surprise there; he spends more time hiking in the jungle than staying in town. he likes the colors of the jungle-smells better than all the vibrantly colored perfume and spice smells that permeate the streets of his home town. in fact, he spends so much time in the jungle that all but a few of his friends are nagas. snake people that typically keep to themselves and don’t usually interact with outsiders.
mikkel’s naga friends taught him how to easily tame any wild snake, so for a long while he would just sorta… wear a snake home and then release it again before dinner. he never did it on a regular basis, he just did it when he felt like it. So he’d go out hiking in the morning, catch himself a snake and drape it around his neck like a scarf (he likes scarves too, i usually draw him wearing one) then he’d come home for lunch and make a lot of people do double-takes as he walked past them with a living scarf. his mother was terribly furious the first few times this happened, but she quickly learned to just tolerate it. after lunch, mikkel goes back out to the jungle and releases the snake before he heads home again for dinner and bed.
through this method (which he did only on very randomly chosen days) he ended up learning a lot about the snakes in his local area. eventually, he did save up some money and buy himself a pet ball python, pictured here. her name is Kerikil, which means “pebbles” in Indonesian.
I would’ve liked to use Hindi or another Indian language, but i have only google translate and i cannot phonetically read anything that doesn’t have a latin-esque alphabet. I do take some pride in my ability to guess word pronunciations fairly accurately, but if it’s not in a script that i can read there’s just nothing i can do.. ah the sorrows of wanting to write diverse characters but only being fluent in English…
(Kerikil is an adorable name anyway, so i’m keeping it)

so once Mikkel briefly dated one of his naga friends. An agender bisexual naga named Fajar, to be specific. it was a very short relationship, though it was full of passion and happiness. in the end though, they both decided it just wasn’t quite what they wanted, so they went back to just being good friends.

Mikkel and Suri are cousins, but they were raised together in the same household. Suri is a little older. Her mother is a native of the area, but her father comes from much farther north. He too was a vampire with purple eyes and red hair. Mikkel is just an elf, but he has synesthesia. His eyes are bright green due to an uncommon genetic mutation.
mikkel likes to walk in the jungle and sometimes he brings home little friends. (the nagas he befriended taught him how to charm snakes)
